Because I missed out on the tweeting that was going on yesterday, Mr B directed me to this rather amazing stained glass window.

He'd seen it in an article in the Metro and vaguely knew the name I needed to Google.
The company is South London Stained Glass and their website is here.
A slight twist on OOTD more a must-have accessory for the coming, colder months.
A Jan Constantine tea cosy worn as a hat!

You'll have to excuse the face as we were in Homesense and Mr B all but dared me to wear it! How could I resist? (Lummy lorks...who pays full price for JC stuff? This was thirty quid even at Homesense!)

Trying very hard not to be seen and get thrown out!

Thank you for the comments, Sharon. So pleased you managed to get the CK stuff from there; only a few left now and a couple of single quilt covers. And, having mentioned CK...thank you saracarolmakes for your extremely kind offer. I don't seem to be able to send you a message via the follower box. So, just so you know, I wasn't ignoring you!! Maybe see you at Bicycle Bazaar tomorrow? I think it's the last one for a while and is possibly in the piazza rather than the Fishmarket.
Just a quick shot of me in the park on the way to the doctors this morning...without the 'hat'!

Have a fab weekend!

A Sal Snippets Special

At long last I got my act together and photographed my birthday present to me!

One of Sal's 'altered clipboards'. It has taken me 2 years to order one! Sal had one for sale in her shop and I used the picture as a screen saver for ages, it was so pretty. Now I have my own beauty to drool over!

The clipboard is decoupaged with all manner of pretty papers. The four 'squares' at the bottom are all padded, with glass-headed pins. Sal also offered to put my name on too! (Just so I don't forget who I am!).

Under the clip is a selection of fabric pieces. Do you realise, I never knew what Rosali was until I got into blogging. To think, I'd missed out on all that loveliness for years!

The back has a pocket on, that was filled with even more prettiness - envelopes, writing paper and a little booklet that Sal had made, with a 'My Vintage Ideas' Cash's name tape on. Oh yes, and my name! (Well, the grey cells aren't what they used to be!).

As an extra, added, surprise bonus, Sal also sent me some larger pieces of pretty fabrics too! It is quite weird; the one at the back, with the roses on...I have a cushion from Homesense made in the same fabric! And now I know what it is, as there is the name on the selvaged!

I haven't put a link to the clipboard in the shop as Sal has changed her wares, so to speak, but here is a link to her new, vintage fabric shop and one to her blog. I'm sure most of you already know, and love, her snippets, but, just in case!

Thank you ever so much Sal, you did me proud!

I Lost My Heart To A Starship Trooper

Well, no, I didn't but it provides a link!

This is a video from yonks ago , choreographed by the great Arlene Philips, known to most of you now as that lady wot woz sacked from Strictly Come Dancing on the Beeb on a Saturday night.

But way back when this was how she became a 'name', when Hot Gossip became a regular spot on 'The Kenny Everett Video Show'.
It feature a very young Sara Brightman, who, now, I think is mainly remembered for saying she married our finest Lord Lloyd-Webber, (Andrew), because he had the biggest willy in the playground, (which begs the question "HOW did she find out?"), on The Graham Norton Show!

BUT, actually, I lost my heart to this...

...a real vintage picnic basket!

With quite a few of the original innards! Though there appears to be a 'bogus' side plate that doesn't quite match, but is old all the same, and I rather like its' pattern.

There was even tea bags in one of the plastic tubs! (Don't think I'll risk making a drink for Mr B with one of those tho'!)

I found it in one of the vintage stores in Manchester during the bloggers meet-up. When the other bloggers were oohing and aahing over vintage clobber I spied there was an area of outstanding beauties! Homewear! Result!
I also bought a very sweet little jug in gold ceramic. I love that gold china but have never had the chance to succumb before! No photo as yet, but I am really behind with doing them!
I don't foresee any picnic outings but I'm sure it'll get used in the garden!

How Long?

So, how long did it take little Miss Renny-Penny-Pants to make herself at home on my new "Saddle Up" quilt?

One week!

Cheeky Miss!!

Happy 4th of July!

My fondest wishes to my American followers across the pond. Here's hoping you all had a glorious day!

And, if ever there was a day to splurge on all things 'cowboy', well, today is the day. And I have!

These were my 'stars' for today on BT Yahoo homepage...

  1. GeminiGemini (5/21-6/21)

Go ahead and treat yourself to an expensive luxury; you deserve it. Lately, you've been so focused on work that you have forgotten just why you've been toiling away. Now you have a marvellous opportunity to take some time off and indulge in some creature comforts. Buy yourself some beautiful lingerie, fragrant flowers, or fashionable clothes. Splurge on a luxurious status symbol or a piece of jewellery.

So, what did I buy???

An absolute corker of a quilt! I have admired from afar Hens' quilts, then, lo and behold, this appeared on her blog, Hen House, about 4 days ago. Somehow I missed it until yesterday! And now it is on its' way to a new home...MINE!

Hen very kindly said it was OK to use her blog photos, (thank you, Hen). So here is a montage of "Saddle Up" in glorious detail. Wow!

It should arrive tomorrow by 1 pm, so fingers crossed, then Mr Blossom gets a peek before he flies off to Dublin for a week. I guess this quilt can be my 'blanky' while he is away!
